Good morning! The softball team recorded a huge triple play this past weekend that landed on SportsCenter’s No. 1 play of the day! Check it out below.

⚾️ Series win over No. 16 Wake Forest
🥎 First ever triple play

🔼 Ranked Win. The baseball team beat No. 16 Wake Forest in game one, 13-2. The Hokies scored nine runs in the first inning. The men won game two 11-8. Ben Watson and Garrett Michel both hit home runs. The Hokies finished the series with a 6-5 win on Sunday. This is the program’s first ranked road sweep since 2021.

🔼 Top 20. The No. 12/16 softball team beat No. 13/16 Stanford in game one, 4-3. Zoe Yaeger hit a three-run home run, and Emma Lemley earned her 12th win of the season. The Hokies won game two 8-7 and recorded the first triple-play in program history. The women won game three 6-5. Cori McMillan hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the series sweep.

Top 10. The men’s swim and dive team finished 10th at the NCAA Championships. The Hokies broke three school records and took home three top-eight finishes.
