Good morning! Big wins below! Coach John Szefc won his 200th game at Virginia Tech, the men’s basketball team had a thrilling overtime win and the softball team did great in the Hokie Invite.

🔼 Classic Wins. The baseball team competed at the 2025 Keith LeClair Classic. The Hokies beat Indiana State 10-2. Brett Renfrow dealt five shutout innings and nine strikeouts. The Hokies went on to beat Kent State 7-2 for head coach John Szefc’s 200th win with the program. Henry Cooke and Davis Lewis each hit home runs.

🔼 OT Dub. The men’s basketball team beat Syracuse 101-95 in a thrilling overtime victory. The trio of Jaydon Young, Ben Hammond and Jaden Schutt combined for 67 points. This was the Hokies first overtime game since 2022. The Hokies got 15 of their 19 points from Hammond and Young in the extra period.

🔼 Invite Only. The softball team hosted the Hokie Invite. The women beat Villanova 18-2 and tied the program record for the most home runs in a single game with eight. Next, the women beat Penn State 6-3. Emma Lemley threw 12 strikeouts. On the final day, the Hokies beat James Madison 4-1 and Radford 5-4. Zoe Yaeger hit her first home run of the season.

🔼 Season Finale. The women’s basketball team won its regular season finale against Clemson 78-76. The team secures a first round bye in next week’s ACC tournament. Carys Baker and Rose Micheaux each scored 17 points.

Champ Stats. The track & field team started competition at the ACC Indoor Championships. On day one, the Hokies brought home two individual championships from Julia Fixsen and the men’s DMR team.
