🔼 NCAA Stats. The wrestling team wrapped up the NCAA Championships. On day one, the Hokies pushed four wrestlers into the quarterfinals and four more to battle in the consolation bracket. Caleb Henson and Eddie Ventresca advanced to the semifinals and were named All-Americans. Connor McGonagle also earned All-American status on the back side. Henson finished as the runner-up and is Virginia Tech’s first back-to-back national finalist.

🔼 Diamond Wins. The baseball team beat No. 16 Louisville 5-4 in the series opener. The Hokies had seven hits, and Brett Renfrow shut out the Cardinals in seven innings. This was the team’s first-ranked victory of 2025. Head Coach John Szefc earned his 600th career win as the Hokies won game three 11-4. This is the program’s first ranked series victory since 2023.

Records! The Hokies finished competition at the Swimming & Diving NCAA Championships. Carmen Weiler Sastre brought home two First-Team All-American finishes and three school records.

🟠 ONE BIG THING

Two Wins. The track & field team competed at the Hurricane Invitational to open the outdoor season. The Hokies won two events. Vlad Puchko won the men’s discus with a 55.73m result. Katie Seyfang won the women’s shot put with a 16.15m result.
