Two Hokies were named to ESPN's Top 100 College Football Players list.

🔼 Two Down. The women’s soccer team won its first away game against James Madison 2-0. The Hokies now have two shutouts in a row and are 2-0 on the season so far. Samantha DeGuzman scored the first goal at 8:51, and Maysen Nelson scored at 30:30. The women were in control of the first half, where they soot 13 of their 16 goals. Lauren Hargrove had two saves in the net for her first shutout of the season.

🔼 The Safe Ones. The safeties on the football team are coached by Pierson Prioleau and Jeron Gouveia-Winslow. The coaches are scouting the players to see who will take starting, second and third-string positions for the season. Jalen Stroman is the veteran of the safeties. Jaylen Jones has been a safety for just two years. Mose Phillips III, Tyler Childress, Devin Alves, Cameren Fleming and Quentin Reddish are other players to look out for on the field.

ESPN named Antwaun Powell-Ryland and Dorian Strong to its College Football Top 100 players for the 2024 season list. The award recognizes the top 100 college football athletes across both offense and defense. This is the second consecutive year Strong has been on the list. Strong ranked No. 88, and Powell-Ryland ranked No. 63.
