🔼 First Dub. The football team took down Marshall 31-14 for its first win of the season. Bhayshul Tuten led the team with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown. Stephen Gosnell recorded the longest reception of his career with a 49-yard catch. Scoring for the Hokies were Jaylin Lane with a 58-yard punt return, John Love made a 42-yard field goal, Tuten rushed for one yard, Kyron Drones ran in a three-yard touchdown and Da’Quan Felton caught a pass and ran to the end zone.

🔼 Weekend Win. The volleyball team defeated VCU 3-1 for the 22nd time in series history. Hailey Pearce set a new career-high of 16 kills. Jordan Hallman recorded her fourth straight game with three or more block assists. Tech totaled 52 kills, 50 assists, 16 aces, 52 digs and 19 block assists.

🔼 Road Win. The men’s soccer team beat Furman on the road 3-0. Ethan Hackenberg, Carter Hensley and Olafur Floki Stephensen scored for the Hokies. The team is now 4-0-1 and has had three shutouts so far this season.

Top 3. The men’s and women’s cross country teams came out on top at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The women finished in first out of six teams. Elizabeth Coe finished second in the 4k with a 14:03.3 time. The men also finished first, and Nicholas Kipchirchir claimed the individual title for the men’s race with his personal best time of 17:43.5 in the 6k.
