Inside HokieSports: Hokies 2-Point Win Over Notre Dame
The men's basketball team beat Notre Dame 65-63.

🔼 Road Win. The men’s basketball team beat Notre Dame 65-63. This is the team’s fourth road win of the season. Tobi Lawal had his fifth double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Rechsteiner made seven free throws in the final minute to lead the Hokies to a win.

🔼 Commonwealth Clash. The women’s basketball team beat Virginia 87-62. The Hokies set a program record in an ACC game with 26 assists. Four athletes scored in double-figures, with Matilda Ekh and Carys Baker each with 17 points.

🔼 Starting Strong. The softball team competed at the Charleston Invite and had many wins. The Hokies beat Fordham 12-0, North Dakota State 8-0 and 9-0, College of Charleston 11-0 and 10-0. Emma Lemley had 14 strikeouts through six innings against Fordham. Emma Mazzarone and Sophie Kleiman combined for five strikeouts and one hit allowed against NDSU. She had her first Hokie start in game two against NDSU, tallying four strikeouts. Cassie Grizzard pitched four scoreless innings against College of Charleston. Lemley became the sixth pitcher in program history to throw a perfect game in the second win over College of Charleston.
🔼 Carrying the Court. The women’s tennis team beat Delaware 5-2 and Navy 7-0 to bring its win streak to six. The Hokies had four singles wins against both teams.

🤔 HOKIE TRIVIA
Conference Win. The No. 10 wrestling team beat No.17 Stanford 30-13 in their first meeting as conference foes. The Hokies secured wins in seven of ten bouts for their fourth-straight win.
The Hokies are now #-0 all-time against Stanford.

Season Opener. The women’s lacrosse team won its first game of the season against VCU 15-7. Lauren Render led the team with seven goals. Her seven goals and nine points tie for fifth in the program’s single-game record book.
