The men's basketball team beat the Cavaliers 75-74.

🔼 Road Win. The men’s basketball team recorded its first road win of the Virginia Tech vs. Virginia series since 2018 with a 75-74 win on Saturday. Jaden Schutt had a career-high 18 points, and Tobi Lawal was right behind with 17 points. The Hokies shot 52.10% from the field and 52.38% from behind the arc.

🔼 Home Win. The women’s basketball team beat SMU 79-71 in Cassell yesterday. Matilda Ekh had a perfect first quarter, going 5-for-5 from the field. She finished with 23 points, and Carleigh Wenzel had 21.

🔼 Weekend Wins. The men’s tennis team beat Princeton 4-3 in a comeback thriller. The Hokies won four singles matches to steal the win. Patrik Jurina sealed the deal and won the match-clinching point. In the Saturday doubleheader, the men beat Georgetown 5-2 and swept St. Bonaventure 7-0. The Hokies finished the weekend with a 7-0 sweep over Davidson.

🔼 Court Dubs. The women’s tennis team took down Indiana 4-0. The Hokies won two doubles matches and three singles matches. Next, the women beat James Madison 6-1. Mila Mulready and Arina Gamretkaia won their first matches as Hokies. The team is now 4-1 overall.

Vault Up. The track & field team sent seven pole vaulters to the 2025 Gamecock Challenge. Erin Kelleher elevated her personal best to 4.13m for a second-place finish.

🟠 ONE BIG THING

Rule the State. The wrestling team beat Virginia in the Commonwealth Clash, winning nine of ten bouts with six bonus point victories. Two true freshmen— Matt Henrich and Gage Wright— had wins in front of a 3,755 crowd. This is the program’s 13th straight win over the Hoos.
