🔼 Cardiac Kids. With 2:38 left in the contest, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team had Clemson right where they wanted them.

Down 8 (68-60), the Hokies stormed back, scoring the game’s final 11 points en route to a thrilling 71-68 victory over the Tigers in front of a raucous Cassell Coliseum crowd.

Veterans Carys Baker and Carleigh Wenzel were the story for Virginia Tech, both scoring 24 points apiece, including each scoring four in the final 2:38 of the contest.

The third Hokie in double-figures, Samyha Suffren, hit one of the biggest shots of the night, a three-pointer from the wing to bring Virginia Tech within one with 1:27 to play. Suffren finished with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.

🔼 Top-25 Tussle. Tonight, the seventh-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling squad hits the mats once again with a top-25 matchup on the docket at Cassell Coliseum.

The Hokies, who already have four wins over nationally-ranked opponents on their resume this season, are set to welcome No. 24 Stanford to town.

The first match gets underway at 7 p.m.

🔼 Taking Over. Former Virginia Tech standout Chad Pinder will once again find himself in a dugout this spring and summer, but with a new club.

After an 11 year playing career, Pinder stepped into a managerial role for the first time last season, leading the Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in the Chicago White Sox organization.
