✍️ And much, much more!

🦃 INVEST TO WIN

Virginia Tech Athletics has announced the next step in Invest to Win, while establishing the Investors Society, an exclusive group of dedicated supporters whose commitment to Hokie Athletics is helping advance the Invest to Win campaign and shape the future of Virginia Tech Athletics.

As Virginia Tech continues to build upon the Invest to Win campaign, the Investors Society will play an integral role in advancing strategic athletics priorities, matching the ambition of an athletics department that wants to position itself amongst the nation’s best, including expanding premium seating options for fans and enhancements to The Virginia Tech Gameday Experience.

Through the Invest to Win campaign, Virginia Tech is committed to building an athletics department that consistently competes on the national stage. That requires a financial model capable of supporting championship-level expectations. Virginia Tech is not waiting to see where the future of college athletics goes; we are investing in where we believe Virginia Tech Athletics belongs.

🔼 Here To Stay. After leading the Virginia Tech baseball program’s 2026 return to the postseason, head coach John Szefc has agreed to a contract extension through the 2030 season, as announced by Brian White, Virginia Tech vice president and director of athletics.

Sporting a .558 winning percentage through his nine seasons at Virginia Tech (where he has earned 253 of his 645 career head coaching victories), Szefc has guided the Hokies to an enormity of success on the diamond, cultivating a winning identity while routinely pointing the program towards the pinnacle of the ACC.

Since 2022, he has piloted Virginia Tech to five consecutive 30-win seasons and a 33.6-win average – the program’s second-best, five-year average during its ACC tenure (since 2005) – bookending the Hokies’ run with a pair of NCAA Regional berths.

🔼 Dynamic Debut. It was quite a debut season for former Hokie standout TJ Rumfield.

As a rookie for the Colorado Rockies, Rumfield accomplished a feat that hadn’t happened in 100 years. He led the National League in on-base percentage (.390) as a rookie, marking only the third time in all of MLB history it had been done and first time since 1926.

He finished the season as one of only seven hitters in all of the big leagues with a .300 batting average, while blasting 16 HRs and driving in 73 runs.

🔼 Five Things To Know. The Hokies return home after claiming consecutive road victories to face the Pitt Panthers under the lights tomorrow night at 7 p.m. ET.

Weekday games at Lane Stadium bring a few game day adjustments — and none are more important to know than the changes to parking in Blacksburg.

Be sure to review the Lane Stadium Parking Information landing page for all the details you need to know before heading to the game.

🦃 MOVIN’ ON UP

Supporting Virginia Tech Athletics can be as simple as filling up your gas tank or dining at your favorite local restaurant.

Virginia Tech Athletics has partnered with Upside to give Hokie fans a new way to support through everyday spending. By using the free Upside app, fans can earn cash back on eligible purchases at participating gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores – and direct those earnings to support Virginia Tech Athletics.

It's a simple way to turn purchases you're already making into meaningful support for the Hokies.
