That’s all that separates us from the return of Virginia Tech women’s basketball, who is set to return to the court on November 2 in the home opener against NC Central at 6 p.m.
Coming off a 23–10 campaign and an NCAA Tournament appearance, Virginia Tech has plenty of reasons for optimism heading into Megan Duffy's third season in Blacksburg. Graduate guard Carleigh Wenzel headlines a group of six returning players, with Samyha Suffren and Leila Wells providing additional experience in the backcourt.
The Hokies have also added several intriguing newcomers, including Tennessee transfer Alyssa Latham, fellow transfer Lauren Hurst and Emmanuel transfer Natalee Goff.
🔼 First Look: VT vs. Georgia Tech. Returning home from their trip out west, the Hokies are set to host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a Homecoming matchup on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The contest marks the fourth consecutive home game in the 2026 season that will be played in front of a sold-out Lane Stadium. Hokie fans still seeking tickets can visit SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of Virginia Tech Athletics.
The exciting week of Homecoming festivities in southwest Virginia is punctuated by Saturday’s matchup.

🔼 Chattin’ With Chase. This fall, Chase Vazquez arrived on campus to join the Virginia Tech men’s soccer program after spending two years at Louisville.
Vazquez has scored three goals for the Hokies this season and looks to help Tech prepare for next month’s ACC Tournament.
He sat down with Jake Lyman in the latest edition of Hokie Sports Insider.
