Virginia Tech Athletics has announced the next step in Invest to Win, while establishing the Investors Society, an exclusive group of dedicated supporters whose commitment to Hokie Athletics is helping advance the Invest to Win campaign and shape the future of Virginia Tech Athletics.
As Virginia Tech continues to build upon the Invest to Win campaign, the Investors Society will play an integral role in advancing strategic athletics priorities, matching the ambition of an athletics department that wants to position itself amongst the nation’s best, including expanding premium seating options for fans and enhancements to The Virginia Tech Gameday Experience.
Through the Invest to Win campaign, Virginia Tech is committed to building an athletics department that consistently competes on the national stage. That requires a financial model capable of supporting championship-level expectations. Virginia Tech is not waiting to see where the future of college athletics goes; we are investing in where we believe Virginia Tech Athletics belongs.
🔼 Friday Night Lights. The Hokies return to Lane Stadium TONIGHT for one of the biggest early-season matchups in the ACC, as the unbeaten Hokies welcome unbeaten Pitt to Blacksburg.
Tech is off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2017 and enters the matchup 1-0 in ACC play after grinding out a 21-14 road victory over Boston College. The Hokies have shown plenty of offensive firepower through the opening month, averaging 43.3 points per game.
A sold-out Lane Stadium be be on full display for the entire nation under the lights in a 7 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.

🔼 Late Arrival. With hoops season a month away, Mike Young and the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team announced one more addition to this year’s roster with the signing of 6-foot-4 guard Efrem "Butta" Johnson.
The Huntsville, Alabama native played last season at Clemson where he started nine times in 35 games, scoring 6.3 points per contest.
Prior to his season in the ACC, Johnson played at UAB for three seasons where he helped the Blazers to an American Athletic Conference title and NCAA appearance in 2024, when the squad advanced to the second round.
Johnson arrives in Blacksburg with 135 career games played and 55 starts. A 1,000-point scorer, Johnson has averaged 7.6 points per game in his career while shooting better than 39% from the field.
