✍️ And much, much more!

🔼 Mr. Clutch. With his team hunting down their first win of the season, former Virginia Tech standout Joey Slye proved to be Mr. Clutch for the Tennessee Titans, connecting on 4-of-4 in field goals with distances of 29, 56, 49 and 44 in the thrilling 26-20 over the Colts.

His 49-yard field goal with 2:03 remaining broke a 20–20 tie, and his 44-yarder helped seal Tennessee's first victory of the season.

Now in his eighth year in the NFL, Slye now has 184 field goals in his career to go along with 196 points for a total of 748 points scored, the second-highest total by any Virginia Tech alum.

🔼 First Impressions. Eleven different players saw action as the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team got its first exhibition action of the 2026-27 season against perennial contender Maryland on Thursday night.

The Hokies poured in 82 points on the night, including a team-high 17 from Samyha Suffren, while Kate Sears appeared in her first action with Tech, chipping in 15 off the bench.

🔼 In Good Company. After racking up 251 all-purpose yards, including 182 yards receiving, the sixth-highest single game total in program history, Que’Sean Brown earned himself some national notoriety.

On Monday, Brown was named to the National Team of the Week and the ACC Team of the Week by PFF for his performance in the Hokies 34-24 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday.

🔼 Hokie Hero. Each week throughout the 2026 Virginia Tech Football season, a Hokie Hero from the VT Corps of Cadets will be honored for their service.

This weekend’s Hokie Heroes are alumni Capt. Randy Abilmona and 1st Lt. Maxwell Tran. They are currently deployed in Africa providing direct operational support for Operation Octave Shield and Operation Juniper Shield.
