🔼 Crowded House. On Tuesday, Virginia Tech Athletics announced that its Saturday, Nov. 14, matchup against Stanford is officially sold out, setting the stage for a packed Lane Stadium and a full day of gameday traditions and special events.
Hokie Nation is encouraged to wear maroon or orange as Virginia Tech celebrates Ag Day, presented by Virginia Farm Bureau, and honors the nation’s veterans. Fans can enjoy a petting zoo at Hokie Village, agriculture-themed features throughout the game and special Veterans Day experiences highlighting Virginia Tech Athletics’ partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and Tickets for Troops.
Game time is still to be announced.
🔼 First Look. Virginia Tech Football will head west to play their third road contest of the 2026 campaign as they face Cal on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The matchup, which pits the Hokies and the Golden Bears against each other for just the second time as conference competitors, will be the furthest distance that the Hokies will travel for a game in the regular season.
Tech will look to find themselves back in the win column against a Cal team that has split their two conference matchups through 2026.
🔼 Three’s Company. Virginia Tech men’s soccer picked up another victory over an in-state foe on Tuesday night, using a pair of second half goals to pick up a 3-1 victory over Longwood.
Three different Hokies found the back of the net, led by Amir Ariely, who scored a goal and dished out an assist for Tech.
Tech improved to 7-3-1 overall and is now receiving votes in the latest national top-25 polls.
🔼 Baking Up Birdies. On the back of 14 birdies, sophomore Ben Baker brought home his first collegiate title at the Testudo Cup in Ijamsville, Md. on Tuesday.
Baker’s play helped the Hokies earn a second-place team finish at 3-under for the tournament. This is the second runner-up finish for Tech, who tied for second at the J.T. Poston Invitational in September.
The Broadlands, Va., native carded a 10-under 206 (70-68-68) for the individual title, while Robert Thompson tied for fifth individually with a 3-under 213 (70-72-71).
🔼 Show Stopper. After an acrobatic effort in Charlottesvile last Friday night, goalkeeper Diego Dauzier was named the ACC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Dauzier made six saves in Virginia Tech’s 2-1 win at Virginia on Friday evening, marking his fourth match this season with six or more saves. It was his second such performance against an ACC opponent, with both resulting in wins.
His efforts helped snap the Hokies’ four-match winless streak against Virginia, improve Tech’s ACC record to 3-1-1 and move the team into second place in the standings with 10 points.
