🔼 Talkin’ Ball, Y’all. We are just 26 days away from tipoff for the Virginia Tech men’s hoops team.

On Wednesday, members of this year’s squad jumped behind the mics to preview the upcoming season at the annual ACC Tipoff event in Charlotte.

🔼 Looking Ahead. On today’s edition of Level Seven: A west coast trip for the Hokies! Virginia Tech battles California in Berkeley Saturday afternoon.

Tech broadcasters Bill Roth and Mike Burnop have the latest on the Tech football team which is preparing to face Cal’s prolific QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele.

🔼 Coming To A Screen Near You. In conjunction with ESPN, the ACC announced television selections as well as tip times for conference contests Wednesday afternoon.

Tech will be featured on ESPN or its affiliates six times, while 10 games will be on ACC Network and two other contests will be available on The CW.

🔼 In Good Company. Different tournament. Same result.

Senior Valentine Delon of the Virginia Tech women’s golf program continued her torrid pace on the links this week at The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State.

Delon earned her third consecutive top-10 finish, ending in second-place, just a shot back of the tournament winner. Delon carded eight birdies en route to a 5-under for the 36-hole, shortened event.

🔼 Making His Mark. In his first-ever MLB postseason experience, former Tech standout Ian Seymour is making his presence felt for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Last night, Seymour was the winning pitcher in Tampa Bay’s series clinching 4-3 victory over the Yankees after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, striking out two and allowing just one hit.

On Monday, Seymour tossed three-innings of relief, allowing just one run and striking out four to help lift Tampa Bay to a 5-2 win over the Yankees.

The former Hokie now moves onto the American League Championship Series, which is set to begin on Monday, October 12.

🔼 First Look. Virginia Tech Football will head west to play their third road contest of the 2026 campaign as they face Cal on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The matchup, which pits the Hokies and the Golden Bears against each other for just the second time as conference competitors, will be the furthest distance that the Hokies will travel for a game in the regular season.

Tech will look to find themselves back in the win column against a Cal team that has split their two conference matchups through 2026.

🦃 INVEST TO WIN

Through the Invest to Win campaign, Virginia Tech is committed to building an athletics department that consistently competes on the national stage. That requires a financial model capable of supporting championship-level expectations. Virginia Tech is not waiting to see where the future of college athletics goes; we are investing in where we believe Virginia Tech Athletics belongs.
