Good morning, Tech Fam. That’s what we call leading from the front!
What all are we covering in today’s edition, Hokies? Check it out below!
🏈 Westward Bound
🤼 Raising The Bar
⚽️ Point Taken
✍️ And much, much more!
🔼 Westward Bound. Virginia Tech football will head west looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season when the Hokies travel across the country to face California on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
Sporting the second-highest scoring offense in the ACC, the Hokies will look to lean on QB Ethan Grunkemeyer and RB Jeffrey Overton Jr. against a stingy Golden Bear defense.
🔼 Raising The Bar. With less than a month until the first action on the mat, the Virginia Tech wrestling squad heads into a new season with high expectations.
This week, the Hokies earned spots in the top-five nationally in both preseason polls.
🔼 Point Taken. When it comes to conference play, every point is crucial.
That’s exactly what the Virginia Tech women’s soccer squad earned on Thursday night, gaining a point with a 1-1 draw at SMU.
A goal from Anna Weir in the 11th minute of the contest got the Hokies started early and goalkeeper Julianna Trujillo racked up seven saves on the night to give Tech their seventh point of the conference season.
🔼 Bo Knows. It’s been quite a summer for incoming Hokie standout Bo Bassett and this week, Tech fans got a sneak peek into him earning his first-ever spot on the Senior World Team.
🦃 INVEST TO WIN
Through the Invest to Win campaign, Virginia Tech is committed to building an athletics department that consistently competes on the national stage. That requires a financial model capable of supporting championship-level expectations. Virginia Tech is not waiting to see where the future of college athletics goes; we are investing in where we believe Virginia Tech Athletics belongs.
