This Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country, including the many members of our Hokie community.

🔼 Youth Of A Nation. When you do something that hasn’t been done in over five years, you’re going to turn some heads.

Virginia Tech freshman guard Neoklis Avdalas did exactly that and on Monday, was recognized as both the Co-Rookie and Co-Player of the Week, by the league office.

For the week, the Kalamata, Greece native averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and had three blocks.

Avdalas and his teammates are back at home on Wednesday night against Saint Joseph’s. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game can be seen on ACC Network Extra.

🔼 WIN-dy City. As the Chicago Bears continue their ascend up the NFC North standings, former Hokie standout Tremaine Edmunds finds himself right in the middle of the recent success.

This past weekend, Edmunds racked up seven total tackles, including 1.5 TFLs in the Bears’ come-from-behind win over the New York Giants to improve to 6-3 on the season.

The former Hokie star is in the middle of his best NFL season yet with 80 tackles through nine games, as well as matching a career-high four INTs already this fall.

🔼 In The Nick Of Time. Seven years into his NBA career, former Virginia Tech star Nickeil Alexander-Walker is breaking out for the Atlanta Hawks.

Three times already this season, Alexander-Walker has poured in 20+ points, including a 20-point, three assist, two rebound outing in Friday’s game with Toronto.

On the year, the former Hokie is averaging career highs in points (17.6 ppg), assists (3.2), minutes per game (30.9) and three-pointers per game (2.0).
