🔼 Catch You At Cassell. The boys are back in town!
Coming off a thrilling overtime win this past weekend, the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team is back at home tonight to take on Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph’s at Cassell Coliseum.
Leading the way is reigning ACC Co-Player and Co-Rookie of the week Neoklis Avdalas, who averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and had three blocks in his first week of collegiate action.
Tip time tonight is set for 7 p.m. ET.
🔼 Save The Date. Folks, you won’t want to miss this one.
This week, the Virginia Tech baseball program and head coach John Szefc announced the details for the program’s 18th annual Baseball Night in Blacksburg. Headlining this year’s banquet will be keynote speakers Bill Ripken and Cal Ripken Jr. – accomplished baseball brothers, Mid-Atlantic legends and MLB teammates with the Baltimore Orioles.
Billed as the formal kickoff to Virginia Tech’s spring season, Baseball Night in Blacksburg provides an intimate setting where guests can meet with VIPs and interact with current Hokies before the start of the 2026 campaign.
The event is set for Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at The Inn at Virginia Tech.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. Off to a 2-0 start, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team is back at Cassell tomorrow night to continue its homestand when the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb roll into town for a mid-week tilt.
The Hokies have dialed up the offense in the first two games, averaging 82.0 points per game with a balanced scoring attack of five players in double-figures.
Kilah Freelon (15.0 ppg, 11.0 rpg) and Kayl Petersen (13.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg) are both averaging double-doubles for Virginia Tech.
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. ET.
🔼 50 & Forever. As Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball celebrates 50 seasons, Hokie fans are reflecting on the moments that built the program’s legacy.
For alumnae Carolyn Lesser and Randi Keith, few memories shine brighter than March 1999, when then-head coach Bonnie Henrickson led the Hokies on a historic run to the Sweet 16. That era came to be known as “Bonnie Ball,” a fast-paced, team-first style of play that energized the campus and united the community behind women’s basketball.
Both women remember the excitement that filled Cassell Coliseum—students skipping class, crowds spilling into the stands, and the sense that something bigger than basketball was happening in Blacksburg.
