🦃 STOCK UP
🔼 3 Up, 3 Down. For the fourth time in five seasons, the Virginia Tech men’s hoops squad is off to a 3-0 start after a dominating 94-59 victory over Atlantic 10 foe, Saint Joseph’s, on Wednesday night at Cassell Coliseum.
The Hokies put together a balanced scoring attack with six players in double-figures led by Amani Hansberry, who finished with 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Neoklis Avdalas (14 pts), Jaden Schutt (12), Ben Hammond (11), Tobi Lawal (11) and Tyler Johnson (11) all finished in double-digits in the scoring column.
🔼 Back At Home. Off to a 2-0 start, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team is back at Cassell TONIGHT to continue its homestand when the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb roll into town for a mid-week tilt.
The Hokies have dialed up the offense in the first two games, averaging 82.0 points per game with a balanced scoring attack of five players in double-figures.
Kilah Freelon (15.0 ppg, 11.0 rpg) and Kayl Petersen (13.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg) are both averaging double-doubles for Virginia Tech.
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. ET.

🔼 Young Gun. We all know how important first impressions can be.
Forward Dagur Traustason of the Virginia Tech men’s soccer team might quite a good one this fall and this week, he earned a spot on the ACC All-Freshman team.
In his rookie season, Traustason led all Hokies with seven goals and 14 points. Five of his goals came in the same week after registering the program’s first hat-trick since 2019 against Longwood (Oct. 7) and then put away two in the shutout win, 2-0, versus Louisville on Oct. 11.
