Signaling a new era for Virginia Tech Football, Board of Visitors Rector John Rocovich, President Tim Sands and Director of Athletics Whit Babcock announced the hiring of James Franklin as the next head coach of the Hokies.

A proven program-builder with a national reputation for elevating teams to championship contention, Franklin arrives in Blacksburg as a direct result of the collective commitment of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, University leadership, and the distinguished Search Committee — all aligned behind an ambitious, Invest to Win vision for the Hokies.

🔼 Drive For Five. Seeking the first 5-0 start to a season since 2022-23, the Virginia Tech men’s hoops program returns to Cassell tonight when the Bulldogs of Bryant University roll into town for a mid-week showdown.

The Hokies currently are averaging 95.8 points per game through their first four outings of the season, which ranks a top-20 offense in the country.

🔼 Last Dance At Lane. In what serves as the final home game of the 2025 campaign, Virginia Tech will host 14th-ranked Miami in a sold-out contest on Saturday, Nov. 22 at noon ET.

The Hokies, who will square off against a ranked opponent for the fourth time this season, welcome a Hurricanes team (8-2, 4-2 ACC) that has won three of its last four games.
