The best 65-kilogram wrestler in the world hails from Blacksburg by way of Johnstown, PA and his name is Bo Bassett.
The freshman phenom has yet to don the Virginia Tech singlet but has already started to make history as a Hokie – winning the 65-kilogram bracket of the 2026 Wrestling Championships to become the program’s first senior-level world champion and the first American to win the weight class since 2006.

🔼 Showtime. The wait is over. It’s officially showtime for the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team as it tips off the 2026-27 season tonight at Cassell Coliseum when North Carolina Central rolls into town.
Entering their third season under head coach Megan Duffy, the Hokies look to build on a successful 2025-26 campaign that featured 23 victories and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Virginia Tech opens the season with three consecutive home games, hosting NC Central, Delaware and James Madison.
Tip time on ACC Network Extra is set for 6 pm ET.

🔼 Host With The Most. For the first time since 2021, the Virginia Tech men’s soccer team will host an ACC Tournament match at Thompson Field.
With a 2-1 victory over Syracuse in the regular season finale, the Hokies secured the No. 6 seed and will welcome No. 11 seed NC State to Blacksburg for a first-round matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The two teams faced off earlier in the season, resulting in a 1-1 draw in Raleigh.
The Hokies earned the right to host a postseason contest following their regular-season campaign, securing a top eight finish in the ACC standings with a 4-2-2 record.

🔼 Toot Toot. While Virginia Tech football may have been off this past week, former Hokie standout Bhayshul Tuten put on quite a show for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tuten carried the ball 16 times for 104 yards and a touchdown, while also hauling in two catches for 55 yards and another score as he propelled the Jags to a dominant 42-7 home victory over the Colts on Sunday.
It was Tuten’s highest single-game total in his two seasons in the NFL.

🔼 Raising The Bar. The Virginia Tech men's and women's cross country teams recorded their best finishes at the ACC Championships since 2017, with the men earning runner-up honors and the women finishing third.
Five Hokies earned All-ACC honors, while both squads turned in collegiate-best performances across the board at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
The men's team was led by George Couttie, who earned his sixth All-ACC honor and recorded the best ACC Cross Country Championship finish of his career, placing third in a collegiate-best time of 22:18.0.
On the women's side, Aniya Mosley led the Hokies in her first ACC Championship appearance, earning All-ACC honors with a personal-best time of 19:28.2 to finish 12th. Katie Bohlke crossed the line next for Tech, finishing in 19:38.5 to earn her fourth All-ACC honor.
