Inside HokieSports 12/23: All Wrapped Up
Let's Look Back At Hokie Sports in 2025
Good Morning, Hokies. Remember how old school Blockbusters used to ask, “please be kind and rewind.”
Welp, don’t worry, we’ve got that taken care of with this special feature: “Hokie Sports 2025 Wrapped.”
What else are we covering in today’s edition, Hokies?
🙌 All Wrapped Up
🏈 He’s Backkk
🏀 We’ll Be Back Soon
🦃 And much, much more!
🦃 ALL WRAPPED UP
2025 has been a year indelibly etched into Virginia Tech history. From an earthquake-inducing concert to record breaking attendance at events across campus, there have been plenty of thrilling moments that Tech fans won’t be forgetting any time soon.
The year has also served as yet another example of Hokie Nation’s commitment to supporting the hundreds of student-athletes who perform in Division I competition. Milestones, memorable atmospheres and landmark achievements resonated throughout the community, highlighting the spirit and dedication that define Blacksburg.
In the inaugural edition of HokieSports’ 2025 Wrapped, we take a numbers-driven look at the moments and memories that defined Blacksburg in the last year.
🦃 STOCK UP
🔼 He’s Bacckkkk. Former Virginia Tech standout Tremaine Edmunds returned after missing the past month with an injury and racked up six tackles in the Bears’ thrilling Saturday night victory over Green Bay.
Edmunds is just five tackles away from reaching 100+ tackles in every one of his eight NFL seasons. He would join only Bobby Wagner as the only two NFL players to reach 100+ tackles in every season since 2018.
He and the Bears are just one game away from clinching the NFC North Division.

🔼 Don’t Worry, We’ll Be Back Soon. Sure, we may be heading home to enjoy some holiday time with the family, but don’t worry Hokie fans, we’ll be back soon!
The Virginia Tech basketball squads will jump back into ACC action in a big time way with the men’s team set to welcome 21st-ranked Virginia in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash on December 31st at 2 p.m.
One day later, the women’s squad welcomes Miami to town for a New Year’s Day clash. Tip time is set for 6 pm.

🔼 Full House. With excitement building for the upcoming ACC slate, Virginia Tech Athletics announced that the men's basketball game against Virginia on Wednesday, December 31 has officially sold out of general public tickets.
Fans still wishing to purchase Hokies vs. Cavaliers single-game tickets can secure seats through SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of Virginia Tech Athletics.
