🔼 Earning Their Stripes. From the opening tip, Jailen Bedford made his presence known at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson on Wednesday night.

Scoring the first eight points of the game for Virginia Tech, Bedford finished with his fourth 20+ performance in the past 11 games to lead the Hokies to a HUGE road win, taking down the Tigers, 76-66.

Entering the game, Clemson had won 13 of its past 14 and was tied atop the ACC standings.

Joining Bedford in double-figures was Ben Hammond (19 points, four steals) and Tobi Lawal (12 pts, nine rebounds).

🔼 A Lasting Legacy. Wes Worsham, the devoted Virginia Tech supporter whose name adorns the playing surface at Lane Stadium, passed away Tuesday at the age of 93.

For more than three decades, Hokies football has been played on Worsham Field, a tribute to the generosity and passion Worsham and his wife, Janet, showed toward Virginia Tech and its student-athletes. The playing surface at Lane Stadium was named in his honor in 1992 following a major gift to the athletics program.

Virginia Tech Football’s 2026 Spring Game presented by Eagle Construction
is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, with an afternoon kickoff time to be determined.

The game will be free admission and open to the public.

🔼 In The Nick Of Time. For the second time in the past three weeks and third time this indoor season, the Virginia Tech track & field squad program brought home a weekly accolade.

This week, senior Nick Plant was named the ACC Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week following a record-breaking showing at the Doc Hale Invitational on Feb. 7.

Plant posted a personal-best 2:17.80 in the 1,000 meters to uphold his status as Virginia Tech’s all-time leader in the event. His performance ranks No. 5 on the NCAA all-time list, and he finished as the top collegiate athlete in the race.

Former Virginia Tech standout Kerry Carpenter and the Detroit Tigers are set to open full Spring Training this weekend in Lakeland, Fla.

Carpenter is coming off a career-high 26 HRs in 2025 with the Tigers. With 70 long balls in the majors, he is second all-time amongst former Hokies.
