Ready for a big spring? The next eight weeks promise to deliver some incredible moments in Virginia Tech Sports from Cassell Coliseum to the ball fields.

🔼 Crown ‘Em. Most of this roster for the sixth-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling team was in middle school the last time the Hokies snatched outright possession of the ACC regular season title.

That all changed on Friday night as Tech dropped Duke, 26-17, to finish an undefeated conference competition slate.

The Hokies won six of ten matches on Senior Night in Cassell in the dual season finale to give Tony Robie and company their ninth conference title since taking the helm in Blacksburg.

🔼 Puttin’ On A Show. On a night where he was honored on Senior Night, Tobi Lawal put on quite a show for the Hokie faithful on Saturday afternoon.

With about 90 seconds to go, Lawal delivered a thunderous dunk to bring the crowd to its feet and cap off a 82-63 home win over visiting Wake Forest.

The London native finished with 17 points, while freshman Neoklis Avdalas equaled him with 17 for the Hokies.

🔼 What A Weekend. It was quite a weekend on the diamond for the 20th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team.

The Hokies swept their way (4-0) through the Georgia Classic, including two dominant wins over #12 Georgia.

With the four wins, Tech moved to 11-2 overall.

🔼 Havin’ A Ball. Clutch hitting and timely pitching led the Virginia Tech baseball squad to a thrilling series win over Rutgers, which included a dramatic walk-off win on Saturday night and pitching gem on Sunday.

After dropping the series opener, the Hokies bounced back for a 9-8 extra inning win on Saturday on Ethan Ball’s walk-off HR. On Sunday, it was the arms of Ethan Grim and Luke Craytor who guided Tech to a 4-3 victory.

Virginia Tech Football’s 2026 Spring Game presented by Eagle Construction
is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, with an afternoon kickoff time to be determined.

The game will be free admission and open to the public.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. No better way to send off the seniors than with a W.

The Virginia Tech women’s hoops team flexed their defensive muscles yet again, grinding its way to a 62-51 win over Georgia Tech on Senior Day on Sunday afternoon.

It was the 14th home win of the season for the Hokies, who also moved to 16-0 when holding the opposition to under 60 points.

🔼 Back At It. For the second straight outing, the Virginia Tech women’s golf team paced the field, winning the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational this past weekend in Georgia.

The Hokies had rounds of 286, 293 and 289 to come in first at 4-over 868. Pearl Phoncharatkun led Tech with an even-par 216 to tie for third. Phoncharatkun put on her best performance of the season so far by scoring her lowest round (4-under 68) and her first top-five finish this season.
