Virginia Tech Football’s 2026 Spring Game presented by Eagle Construction
is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, with an afternoon kickoff time to be determined.

The game will be free admission and open to the public.

🔼 Grand Opening. What a weekend to kickoff the 2026 campaign for the 21st-ranked Virginia Tech softball team.

After opening the year with a come-from-behind win on Thursday over #14 South Carolina, the Hokies continued their winning ways all weekend long in Columbia, boasting a 4-0 mark on Friday and Saturday.

In their five victories on the weekend, the Hokies allowed just 13 runs overall, while the offense racked up 50 hits and 32 runs.

🗓️ The Full 2026 Softball Schedule

🔼 Make It Fourteen. Not a single member of the seventh-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling program was in high school when the streak started.

But on Friday night in Charlottesville, the Hokies made sure the streak was continued as they rolled to a 14th-straight victory in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash with a 32-7 domination of Virginia in Charlottesville.

It marks the sixth time in the last 10 meetings with UVA that the Hokies tally more than 30 points against the Hoos. On the night, Tech won eight bouts of the evening with all but two coming by way of bonus points.

🗓️ The 2026 Wrestling Schedule

🔼 Planting His Flag. Nick Plant upheld his program record in the 1,000 meters and led five Virginia Tech track & field standouts into the NCAA all-time list as the Hokies posted multiple program records Saturday afternoon at the Doc Hale Invitational.

Plant clocked a personal-best 2:17.80 in the 1,000m, maintaining his status as Virginia Tech’s all-time leader in the event. His performance moved him to No. 5 on the NCAA all-time list, and he finished as the top collegiate athlete in the race, placing behind professionals Cooper Teare and Cole Hocker competing for Nike.

🔼 Bearin’ Down. Now that’s what you call a total team effort.

In its season opener, the Virginia Tech lacrosse squad used balanced scoring to pick up a 12-10 victory over Mercer on Friday afternoon.

Four players scored two goals apiece. Junior Cassandra Montgomery scored the first goals of her career and also tallied an assist to lead the Hokies with three points.

Playing at home for the first time this spring, the Virginia Tech men’s tennis squad dominated Davidson with a 7-0 sweep on Sunday afternoon.
