🔼 Setting The Stage. Next week, the sixth-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling squad heads to Cleveland to compete against the nation’s best.

On Wednesday, all 10 Hokie wrestlers learned their seeds for next week’s NCAA Championship meet.

Four different Tech grapplers earned top-four seeds, led by Eddie Ventresca, who is seeded #2 in the 125-pound bracket.

🔼 Feelin’ 22. Four batters into Wednesday’s road tilt at Elon, the 10th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team grabbed a lead and they never looked back, cruising to a 14-2 victory over the Phoenix.

The Hokies pounded out 10 hits, including four extra-base hits, and a pair of Tech hurlers allowed just three hits and struck out seven in six innings of work.

Zoe Yaeger and Rachel Castine led the way offensively, each going 2-for-4 and each driving in four RBIs in the win.

🔼 Tickets Punched. A trio of Virginia Tech divers punched their tickets to NCAA Championships this week.

Competing at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in Annapolis, Nathan Cox, Jacob Fisher and Rocky Ramsland all earned a ticket to the NCAA Championship meet in Atlanta later this month.

The trio earned spots in all three diving events (1-meter, 3-meter and platform).

🔼 Movin’ On Up. With another undefeated non-conference weekend on its resume, the Virginia Tech softball team continued its ascent up the national rankings this week.

Sitting at 22-2 overall, the Hokies moved into the top-10 in three of the five national polls, sitting at #11 at the remaining two as they head into ACC action this weekend at Duke.

🔼 California Love. The Virginia Tech women’s golf team enjoyed some California sunshine this week and it showed in their play on the links.

Playing at the PGA West Nicklaus Course at the Yale Invitational, the Hokies earned a third-place finish with a 2-over par for the two-day event.

The Hokies were paced by Valentine Delon and Banthita Phoncharatkun who finished tied for seventh at 3-under par.

🔼 New York State Of Mind. Coming off his eighth straight 100+ tackle season, former Virginia Tech standout Tremaine Edmunds found a new home this week.

With NFL free agency opening up, Edmunds inked a free agent deal to join the New York Giants for his ninth season in the league.

The former All-American spent his first five seasons in Buffalo, before being a key cog in the Chicago Bears’ defensive unit for the past three years.
