Virginia Tech Football’s 2026 Spring Game presented by Eagle Construction
is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, with an afternoon kickoff time to be determined.

The game will be free admission and open to the public.

Down by one with 1.7 seconds left in the game, Carleigh Wenzel sunk the game-winning free throws to lift the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team to a thrilling 83-82 victory over Virginia on Sunday afternoon in Charlottesville.

With the win, Virginia Tech earns the sweep of Commonwealth Clash rival Virginia for the first time since the 2022-23 season. The Hokies wrap up the regular season at 22-8 overall and 12-6 in the ACC. It is just the fifth time that Tech has ended the regular season with double-digit wins in conference play as a member of the ACC.

Next up? The ACC Tournament, where Tech earns a bye and will be the sixth-seed and await the winner of 11th-seeded Georgia Tech and 14th-seeded Florida State. Tip time in Thursday’s second round for the Hokies is set for 7:30 pm on the ACC Network

🔼 Fine Nine. For the second straight weekend, the 12th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team is headed back home with yet another winning weekend, sweeping action at Auburn to extend its win streak to nine.

Outscoring the opposition by a tally of 49-14 on the weekend, the Hokies rolled to two victories each over USC Upstate and Auburn with a shutout victory over Troy sandwiched in between.

On the weekend, Tech bashed five HRs to up the season total to 29 for the hard-hitting Hokies.

🔼 Golden Moments. Two golden moments closed out the Hokies’ trip to the 2026 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Boston.

Christian Jackson picked up his second career individual crown with a victory in the men’s 800m and Katrin Brzyszkowska capped a dominant season with her first ACC title in the shot put with a personal-best of 17.00m.

Jackson’s performance led a strong effort on the men’s side, which earned the Hokies a fourth-place finish at the meet.

🔼 Mighty Mia. A huge second quarter led the Virginia Tech lacrosse team to its third win in the past four games, defeating visiting Elon, 17-13, on Friday afternoon in Blacksburg.

Junior Mia Pozzi had a career day for the Hokies, finishing with four goals, six assists and a 10-point day. It was a single game career-high in assists and points for the Baldwinsville, N.Y. native.
