🔼 Flyin’ High. In his final regular season home game at Cassell Coliseum, Tobi Lawal made sure to give the crowd a few more highlights.

The senior standout poured in 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Virginia Tech men’s hoops squad to a 72-63 victory over visiting Boston College on Tuesday night.

With just one regular season game left on the docket, the win was crucial heading into the ACC Tournament as the Hokies jockey for position and aim for a first round bye.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. This season, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team notched 12 ACC wins for just the fourth time in program history.

On Tuesday, the dynamic duo that helped lead the way were honored with their first-ever postseason accolades as Carys Baker and Carleigh Wenzel both were selected to the All-ACC Second Team.

Baker emerged as one of the league’s most productive forwards, averaging 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. She enters the postseason with 24 double figure and nine 20-point performances.

Wenzel directed Virginia Tech’s offense with efficiency and balance, averaging 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. She is ranked top 25 in 10 statistical categories among league competitors.

🔼 Tourney Time. With Sunday’s win in Charlottesville, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops team wrapped up its regular season. Now, it’s Tourney Time.

This week, the Hokies will head south to Duluth, Ga. and Gas South Arena for the 2026 ACC Tournament.

Tech earned the sixth-seed in this year’s bracket and await the winner of today’s matchup between 11th-seeded Georgia Tech and 14th-seeded Florida State.

The Hokies will play that winner tomorrow night at 7:30 pm on the ACC Network.

🔼 Young Gun. The present and future is very bright for the 11th-ranked Virginia Tech softball squad.

The latter part of that statement was honored on Tuesday as Gaby Mizelle was named ACC Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career.

Mizelle was crucial in the Hokies’ 5-0 weekend at the Jane B. Memorial Invitational. Through five starts, Mizelle was second on the team with a .571 average, going 8-for-14 with two doubles, one home run and a .929 slug percentage.
