🏈 A SPECIAL VISITOR
The Hokies had a special guest leading a “Let’s Go Hokies” chant this week at practice.
🔼 Winning Wednesday. Sophomore Bree Carrico extended her outstanding sophomore campaign with her 12th victory of the season, tossing four shutout innings to lead the 10th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team to a 9-0 road win at Liberty on Wednesday night.
Three different Hokies left the yard with Jordan Lynch, Nora Abromavage and Gaby Mizelle all hitting HRs in the victory.
🔼 Looking For A Shot. Coming off a highlight-reel career, Tobi Lawal is ready to put his skills on display for professional executives.
This week, Lawal is a part of the 72nd annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, which runs through Saturday.
The event will feature 64 college basketball seniors and be held at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va. The four-day event will give players the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of hundreds of NBA personnel and international scouts ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft. There will be eight teams consisting of eight players each playing a 12-game tournament over four days.
