🔼 Rollin’ On The River. Knocking six doubles around the yard, the Virginia Tech baseball team slugged its way to the 8-6 road victory against VCU at The Diamond on Tuesday afternoon, sweeping the programs’ 2026 regular season home-and-home series.
Freshman second baseman Ethan Ball went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Hokies, who witnessed seven players tally at least one hit and six players record at least one RBI. Henry Cooke and Sam Grube both doubled in runs – Cooke doing so inside his 2-for-5 game that featured three RBIs (team high) and Grube within his two-hit day from the leadoff spot.

🔼 The Grind Never Stops. If you want to hear a story of resilience and perseverance, just look at former Tech women’s hoops standout Aisha Sheppard.
After being drafted in the 2022 WNBA Draft and spending a season with the Las Vegas Aces, Sheppard grinded on the international circuit and this week, earned her shot back in the WNBA.
This week, Sheppard signed a training camp contract to join the Phoenix Mercury for the preseason with a shot to earn a regular season roster spot.
🔼 Class Acts. The success wasn’t limited to just on the court for a pair of Hokie men’s basketball standouts.
On Tuesday, rising juniors Tyler Johnson and Ben Hammond were named to the ACC’s 2025-26 All-Academic Team. Both Hokies recently announced their intentions to return to the Hokies in 2026-27, forming a core group of returners that includes forward Amani Hansberry.
