Good morning, Tech Fam. We love having special guests in town!

What else are we covering in today’s edition, Hokies?

⚾️ Host With the Most
🏈 Earning Their Shot
💪 Rollin’ With Renfrow
🦃 And much, much more!

🔼 Host With The Most. There’s certainly no place like home for the Virginia Tech Baseball squad.

Winners of six of their past eight games, the Hokies are back at English Field tonight for a midweek, non-conference matchup with in-state foe, JMU.

Tech won a nailbiter against the Dukes in Harrisonburg back in late Feburary, pulling out a 5-4 win over JMU.

First pitch tonight is set for 6 pm.

🔼 Earning Their Shot. It’s not time to hang up those cleats just yet for eight former Virginia Tech football standouts, who got one step closer to achieving their dreams.

Over the weekend, Tomas Rimac (Vikings), Kelvin Gilliam Jr. (Cowboys), Terion Stewart (Chiefs), Kyron Drones (Packers), Kody Huisman (Bills), Jaden Keller (Raiders), Ben Bell (Colts) and Nick Veltsistas (Commanders) all signed free agent contracts to join the respective organizations for training camp with hopes of earning a shot on the 53-man roster come next fall.

🔼 Rollin’ With Renfrow. Three days after penning the longest scoreless start of his collegiate career, Virginia Tech junior right-hander Brett Renfrow was named ACC Pitcher of the Week, as announced during the conference’s weekly awards presentation on Monday.

From his most traditional role as the Hokies’ series-opening starter, Renfrow dealt eight shutout innings against NC State on Friday night, holding a top-30 NCAA Division I offense to three hits – a tie for its lowest output of the season. In complete command, the two-time All-ACC pitcher retired 24 of 29 batters faced, never allowing a runner beyond second base, while racking up nine strikeouts for the second consecutive start.
