Women's Golf Earns Third Consecutive NCAA Regional Berth

🦃 And much, much more!
🏈 ALL NEW EDITION
Now we have an idea of what the Virginia Tech football team will look like in 2026. And it looks pretty good!
Since last November, the Hokies’ football program has been in a state of flux. Coaching changes, player attrition, portal additions, new schemes, and new faces everywhere.
The ‘tear-down’ and ‘rebuild’ have happened remarkably quickly under architect James Franklin.
🔼 Ticket Punched. On Wednesday, Virginia Tech women’s golf team has earned an NCAA regional bid for the seventh time in program history. The Hokies will be a sixth seed in the Simpsonville Regional, which will be contested May 11-13.
This selection has marked the third consecutive appearance and the seventh NCAA regional appearance in 10 years of the program.
🔼 Mighty Michelle. When you set a program record and bash three HRs, you’re going to garner some recognition.
That was the case for junior Michelle Chatfield, who was not only named the ACC Player of the Week, but also the NFCA Division Player of the Week after a monster week at the plate.
In Saturday’s home victory, Chatfield bashed three HRs and set a new single-game record for RBIs with nine. On the week, she hit .583 with four HRs and 11 RBIs for the Hokies.
🔼 Bringing The Lumber. It’s only right that a carpenter is bringing the lumber.
Former Virginia Tech standout Kerry Carpenter is off to another strong start for the Detroit Tigers.
Now in his fifth MLB season, Carpenter has already blasted six HRs in just 27 games and is on pace for 25+ for the second straight season. He is searching to become the first former Hokie to reach 20+ HRs in three or more MLB seasons.
🔼 Coming Soon. This is one you won’t want to miss.
Tonight, an all-new episode of “Set In Stone”, the Virginia Tech behind-the-scenes series will be revealed with some special Hokie legends sitting down for exclusive interviews.
🙌 CAN’T MISS THIS!
