🔼 They’re Grrrreat! The 12th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team turned up the offense en route to a ACC series victory over visiting Clemson over the weekend.

After dropping a tough opening game, the Hokies bounced right back with wins of 9-1 and 10-5 to improve to 33-5 overall and 9-3 in league play.

In the two wins, Tech pounded out 20 hits, including 10 of the extra-base variety, led by four HR in the series finale on Saturday.

🔼 Super Sunday. Facing its 10th straight opponent ranked in the top-60 nationally, the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team was no stranger to challenges.

On Sunday, the Hokies delivered.

Tech upset No. 17 Notre Dame 4-1, in Blacksburg. This marks the Hokies’ highest-ranked victory since 2019 when the squad also defeated then-ranked No. 16 Notre Dame. 

The exciting match was clinched on Court No. 1, with junior Ilyas Fahim defeating No. 15 Sebastian Dominko, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Hokies. Falling in the first set, Fahim battled back in a tiebreaker in the second set, and claimed control of the court in the final set, sealing his victory. 

🔼 Blast Off. A pair of former Hokies delivered big blasts for their MLB squads this weekend.

On Saturday, Kerry Carpenter hit a two-HR in the Tigers 11-6 victory over the Cardinals.

On Sunday, TJ Rumfield hit his second HR of the season for the Rockies, who defeated the Rockies 4-1 win over the Phillies on Sunday. Rumfield is currently hitting .345 through the first nine games of his MLB career.
