🔼 Ridin’ High. For the 12th-ranked Virginia Tech softball squad, sometimes you gotta go big fly.
That’s what the Hokies did on Tuesday, blasting three home runs en route to a 7-2 midweek road win at Radford.
Kylie Aldridge, Michelle Chatfield and Addison Foster all delivered blasts for Tech, who has now won three straight and sits at 34-5 on the year.
🔼 Stayin’ Home. For guard Tyler Johnson, there’s a bit of unfinished business in Blacksburg.
On Tuesday, Head Coach Mike Young announced that Johnson will return to the Hokies next year for his junior season after missing a big chunk of last year with an injury.
On the court, Johnson averaged career highs on the offensive end of the floor with 8.0 points, 53% shooting from the field and 41.5% from beyond the arc. Additionally, he contributed 4.5 rebounds per contest.
🔼 Back In Blacksburg. She’s back, folks.
Guard Samyha Suffren announced this week that she’ll be back in Blacksburg next season for her redshirt junior season with the Hokies.
Suffren posted career-highs in games played (32), points (8.8) and rebounds (3.3) last season for Tech.
📣 SHOWING SPIRIT
Not only will Hokie fans have a chance to check out the Spring Game on April 18th, but the future of the Tech community will have a chance to join in on the spirit squad fun.
The Hokie Spirit squads will be hosting their Youth Clinic on Hokie Hi Weekend on April 18th with a chance to perform on the field at Lane Stadium before the spring game.
Participants will receive a t-shirt to wear, but we do encourage them to wear their favorite VT Cheerleading outfits if they have them.
