🔼 Rounding The Bases. With less than a month left in the regular season, the 12th-ranked Virginia Tech softball team has been lighting up the scoreboard this spring.
Entering this weekend’s Smithfield Commonwealth Clash series with #21 Virginia, the Hokies find themselves among the nation’s best on the offensive side.
Tech is ranked in the top-10 nationally in eight different offensive categories including leading the country in doubles (85), third in hits (408), fifth in RBIs (312), fifth in batting (.374) and fifth in sluggin pct. (.670).
🔼 Star In The Making. If Nickeil Alexander-Walker was in the old school NBA Jam video game, he would be “On Fire!”
The former Tech standout is having a monster season for the Atlanta Hawks, who find themselves on the cusps of a playoff spot and possible Southeast Division title.
For the first six years of his career, Alexander-Walker averaged 8.6 ppg. This season, he’s averaging 20.8 ppg, including two 30+ point games in the past week.
