🔼 Turning Heads. It takes a special talent to jump right into Major League Baseball and have success right way.

Tech fans know TJ Rumfield is a special talent.

In his debut season in the big leagues with the Colorado Rockies, the former Hokie standout is off to a strong start, playing in 46 of the club’s 47 games so far this year. He’s hitting .275 with eight doubles, six HRs and 23 RBIs.

His six HRs are tied for the sixth-most by any rookie in the MLB this season.

⚾️ A Look At Rumfield’s Season So Far

🔼 Power Pair. Even before heading to Charlotte for the ACC Tournament, the Virginia Tech Baseball squad is already bringing home accolades.

On Monday, Virginia Tech junior pitcher Brett Renfrow and freshman infielder Ethan Ball earned year-end, all-conference honors from the ACC.

Renfrow garnered all-conference praise for the third consecutive season, placing onto the 2026 All-ACC Second Team – his highest career ACC accolade to date following successive appearances on the league’s Third Team (2024, 2025). Ball debuted in the conference’s award class on the 2026 ACC All-Freshman Team.

🔼 Going Hunting. It’s hunting season for the Virginia Tech Baseball squad.

The Hokies will head to Charlotte this week to not only battle in the ACC Tournament to bring home some hardware, but also push for a spot in the NCAA postseason ahead of next Monday’s selection show.

Tech heads to this year’s ACC Tournament as the No. 7 seed and await the winner of 10th-seeded Notre Dame and 15th-seeded Clemson. Tech’s first game is set for tomorrow night at 5 p.m. on the ACC Network.
