🦃 A NEW ERA

An exciting new era is here in Blacksburg! In this live blog, we're capturing every step as Brian White, Virginia Tech's new vice president and director of athletics takes the helm.

Experience every moment from his arrival and press conference to fan reactions and behind-the-scenes coverage of his first days as Hokie Nation's new leader.

Stay updated on all the buzz, reactions, and stories as a nationally-recognized, proven builder and revenue generator begins to lead a bold new era of Hokie Athletics.

🔼 Hoops In The Heartland. The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team is set to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in a neutral site contest at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa on Tuesday, November 10.

The game will be just the second contest ever played in the state of Iowa by the Hokies’ men’s basketball program, following the trip to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2009 for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. (ET) at Ticketmaster

🔼 Waiting On The Call. The time has come. The 2026 NBA Draft is here.

Virginia Tech’s Tobi Lawal has worked all summer to earn an opportunity to have his name called and become the first Hokie since 2019 (Nickeil Alexander-Walker) to be selected in the NBA Draft.

After last night’s first round complete, Lawal is projected as a second round pick during tonight’s coverage.

🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 73 DAYS

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Virginia Tech Football this fall. The Hokies will host
VMI on September 5 at 7:30 p.m.

We’ve reached the point of the countdown where we’re recognizing the big fellas up front.

In 1993, #7️⃣3️⃣ Jim Pyne became Tech's first Unanimous All-American in 1993. He was the top lineman on the 1993 squad that rewrote the school record books for scoring and total offense.

Arguably the greatest offensive lineman to ever wear orange and maroon, Pyne incredibly only allowed one quarterback sack during his college career, which included over 2,700 career snaps.

He went on to play in the NFL for nine seasons and his #7️⃣3️⃣ was officially retired in 1994 by Tech.

🤔 HOKIE TRIVIA

Capping off that record setting 1993 season, Jim Pyne and the Hokies defeated which team in the Independence Bowl?

Got a guess?
