🦃 BEING BOLD

On Tuesday, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors approved an affiliation agreement with the newly created Hokie Ventures, a nonprofit corporation that will support the long-term growth and competitiveness of Virginia Tech Athletics through modernized revenue generation, strategic investments and athletics donor relations. 

Hokie Ventures is designed to create greater flexibility and strategic agility as college athletics continues to undergo rapid transformation driven by revenue sharing, Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), media rights evolution and changing governance models nationally. 

🔼 Among The Elite. One of the best defensive players to ever put on a Virginia Tech football uniform was honored this week among college football’s best.

This week, the National Football Foundation (NFF) announced the names on the 2027 Ballot under consideration for induction into the NFF College Football Hall of Fame.

Among that group was two-time All-American Cornell Brown. Along with his All-American accolades, Brown was the named the 1995 Football News National Defensive Player of the Year and the 1995 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, along with three all BIG EAST selections.

The 2027 ballot includes 80 players and nine coaches from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and 99 players and 39 coaches from the NCAA divisional and NAIA ranks.

Virginia Tech basketball fans will get an exclusive early opportunity to secure seats for the 2026–27 season beginning today at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can unlock their presale access by downloading the HokieSports mobile app and creating a profile to become a digital subscriber.

Men’s basketball ticket memberships and women’s basketball season tickets will open to the general public tomorrow, Thursday, June 4.

🔼 A Spring To Remember. The 2026 season marked a return to postseason baseball for Virginia Tech, as the Hokies earned their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2022.

Virginia Tech finished the year with a 30-26 overall record and a 15-15 mark in ACC play, securing seventh place in one of the nation's toughest conferences. The Hokies earned a first-round bye in the ACC Baseball Tournament before advancing to the quarterfinals and ultimately receiving an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament.

🏈 COUNTIN’ THE DAYS: 94 DAYS

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Virginia Tech Football this fall. The Hokies will host
VMI on September 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Before even stepping onto the field, the 1994 Virginia Tech Football team achieved history with the program’s first-ever preseason ranking at #22.

The Hokies won four straight to start the season, marching to an 8-4 mark and sitting in the top-20 all season long.

Tech finished with a bowl berth in the Gator Bowl against Tennessee.

🤔 HOKIE TRIVIA

Antonio Freeman had 40 punt returns 468 yards for that 1994 squad, one of which was for a touchdown against Pitt on Oct. 22.
