🔼 Eyes On Us. With training camps right around the corner and the season less than 50 days away, watch lists for the upcoming season are rolling out.

🔼 Setting The Course. It’s almost go time for the Virginia Tech volleyball program.

This week, Head Coach Marci Byers and the Hokies rolled out their full 2026 slate.

The fall campaign consists of 30 contests – 15 road and 15 home matches – featuring opponents from nine conferences (MAC, CAA, MEAC, Big South, Sun Belt, Horizon League, NEC, SEC and ACC). ACC action makes up two-thirds of the schedule with 20 conference matches, complemented by 10 non-conference contests.

The Hokies will face 29 different opponents during the season, with Virginia serving as the lone opponent appearing twice on the schedule as part of the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash. Virginia Tech travels to Charlottesville on October 14 before hosting the Cavaliers in Cassell Coliseum on October 16.

🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 4️⃣4️⃣ DAYS

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Virginia Tech Football this fall. The Hokies will host
VMI on September 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Many current Virginia Tech fans may not recognize the name Terry Smoot, but his impact is pretty evident when you look at the record book.

Smoot was a star tailback for the Hokies from 1967 – 1969. He led the Hokies in rushing for three straight seasons, and had eight 100-yard rushing games.

In 1969, Smoot rushed for a then school record 940 yards; his 12 touchdowns that season were third best in the nation. He graduated from Tech with virtually every school rushing record, including career rushing yards, career carries and career touchdowns.
