🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 3️⃣8️⃣ DAYS

When you’re described as a “tackling machine”, you’ve done something right.
That’s how Rick Razzano was described by pretty much everyone who watched Virginia Tech Football in the 1970s.
He still holds school records for tackles in a game (30 in 1977), tackles in a season (177 in 1975) and tackles in a career (634). He averaged 158.5 tackles per season for the Hokies.
He was inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.

🔼 All In This Together. The Hokie Club has announced the return of Triumph Together, Virginia Tech Athletics’ annual 25-hour giving blitz, which is set for August 18-19, 2026.
Now in its sixth year, this annual initiative unites Hokie Nation behind Virginia Tech's 22 varsity sports and over 500 student-athletes at a moment that matters more than ever for college athletics.
This year's campaign arrives at a defining moment for Virginia Tech. With Coach James Franklin and the football program entering a pivotal chapter, new energy across the department with the hiring of Vice President & Director of Athletics Brian White, and the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics creating both challenges and opportunity, the 2026-27 academic year is set to be one of the most pivotal in recent memory.
🔼 Ticket Punched. After firing a 6-under in Monday’s qualifying round, former Virginia Tech golfer Daniel Azallion has earned his ticket to his PGA TOUR debut.
Azallion will tee it up at this week’s Rocket Classic outside of Detroit. He is set to tee off at 8:50 am ET alongside Neal Shipley and Pontus Nyholm.
