Toughness. Physicality. Resiliency.
Those are just three words to describe former Virginia Tech fullback Jesse Allen, who was a member of the Hokies from 2002-2006.
Arriving on campus from his home state of Massachusetts, Allen’s intensity was on display from day one as he was a force in the weight room and in practice for the Hokies.
First earning playing time as a redshirt sophomore in 2004, Allen went on to appear in 36 games in his career, hauling in 10 passes, including two TDs. His real work was done in the running game where he delivered several highlight-reel blocks during his career.
🔼 Major Opportunity. After bringing home a victory at the 123rd Women’s Amateur Championship, Virginia Tech women’s golf standout Valentine Delon earned her ticket to this weekend’s 2026 AIG Women’s Open.
The rising senior became the first French player to win the Women’s Amateur since 2015.
The tournament will be her first-ever appearance at a major championship. She is set to tee off in her first round at 7:42 am ET.
🔼 Preseason Predictions. On Tuesday, the ACC officially released its Preseason Medial Poll with the Hokies slated 8th in this year’s rankings.
Virginia Tech received 1,962 points, just 19 points away from sixth-place in the preseason poll, which consists of votes from more than 185 media members at this year’s ACC Football Kickoff earlier this month.
🔼 Showin’ Out. Competing against the best the country has to offer, Virginia Tech’s Brendan Whitfield showed out in the pool at the USA Toyota National Championships in Irvine, California.
One of six Hokies in the pool this weekend, Whitfield earned a top-13 finish in the 100m freestyle on Tuesday night, clocking in at 48.84
