🔼 Viva Las Vegas. Tomorrow, Tobi Lawal officially takes on the NBA as he steps into Summer League action in Las Vegas.

Lawal and his Dallas Mavericks open up their five-game slate against the Golden State Warriors at 7 pm ET on ESPN.

🔼 Opening Act. While we’re all anxiously awaiting the kickoff for the 2026 season, the planning for 2027 is already well underway.

This week, Virginia Tech announced its season opener for the 2027 campaign with a home date against The Citadel set for Saturday, August 28 at Lane Stadium. The Week 1 matchup completes the Hokies' non-conference schedule for the 2027 campaign.

The opener will be the first meeting between Virginia Tech and The Citadel since the 1953 season. Virginia Tech and The Citadel share a long-standing institutional history rooted in military tradition.

Virginia Tech's 2027 non-conference schedule also includes a Sept. 4 home contest against Liberty and a Nov. 6 road matchup at Notre Dame.

🔼 Another Piece To The Puzzle. The latest puzzle piece has been added to the Virginia Tech women’s basketball program.

On Tuesday, head coach Megan Duffy announced the signing of 6-3 center Jessica Dimaro.

The Nigerian native ventures to Blacksburg by way of Kariya, Japan, where she spent two seasons in the W League with the Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits. She was the W League Rookie of the Year in 2024-25.

In 2025-26, Dimaro averaged 12.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while shooting 53-percent from the field and posting 13 double-doubles.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Virginia Tech Football this fall. The Hokies will host
VMI on September 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Former Virginia Tech gunslinger Michael Brewer set a program record that remains to this day with a career completion percentage of 59.1% in his two years leading the Hokies.

In 20 career starts, Brewer threw for 4,395 yards on 388-of-657 with 31 career TD passes.
