🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 2️⃣6️⃣ DAYS
Cody Grimm played linebacker for Virginia Tech from 2007-09, earning All-American honors during his Hokie career while accumulating 204 tackles, 26.5 TFLs, 11.5 sacks and nine forced fumbles, including seven during his senior season in 2009. Grimm was named the defensive MVP of the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl after Virginia Tech took down Tennessee, 37-14.

🔼 Welcome, Coach. Virginia Tech lacrosse head coach Kristen Skiera has announced the hiring of Olivia Adamson as an assistant coach for the program.
Adamson had a decorated playing career at Syracuse and at Northwestern, where she won a national championship in 2026.
🔼 Classroom Success. The ACC has announced its inaugural class of ACC Graduate Scholar-Athletes, with eight Hokies earning the honor.
Viktor Idhammar (cross country), Aaliyah Jones (lacrosse), Erin Kelleher (outdoor track and field), Mariana Pestana (outdoor track and field), Ainsley Ranstead (volleyball), Ben Reynolds (outdoor track and field), Declan Rymer (cross country) and Frank Thompson (men’s tennis) all earned the distinction.
🔼 Fan Day Incoming. The 2026 Virginia Tech football season is almost here, which means Fan Day is close!
Virginia Tech will host its annual Fan Day on Sunday, August 16 from 4-5 p.m. ET, offering Hokie fans a special opportunity to meet the Hokies' student-athletes as excitement continues to build for a new era of football in Blacksburg.
