Virginia Tech Athletics’ annual 25-hour giving blitz, is set for August 18-19, 2026.
Now in its sixth year, this annual initiative unites Hokie Nation behind Virginia Tech's 22 varsity sports and over 500 student-athletes at a moment that matters more than ever for college athletics.
🔼 Almost Time. The wait is almost over.
For the first time in 287 days (not that we’ve been counting or anything), the Virginia Tech women’s soccer squad will step back on the pitch tomorrow night for the 2026 season opener.
The Hokies are set to welcome in-state foe Old Dominion to town as the first official contest of the 2026-27 athletic calendar for Tech Athletics.
🔼 Making The List. The ability of Marcellous Hawkins’ on the football field has been widely talked recognized. Now, it’s his efforts off the field that is being honored.
This week, Hawkins was named one of 113 nominees for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, college football's highest community service honor.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually to the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field. Named after Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Famer Danny Wuerffel, the award reflects his lifelong committment to leadership, service, and unity.

🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 2️⃣4️⃣ DAYS
Playing in one of the most decorated eras in Virginia Tech Football history, in-state product Larry Austin made a name for himself on Bud Foster’s defensive unit from 1998-2001.
Coming out of Norfolk, Austin stepped onto the field as a redshirt freshman defensive back in 1998 and never looked back, playing in 37 games over the next four seasons, including being a part of the national championship game squad in 1999.
Emerging as a full-time starter in 2000, Austin suffered an ACL tear that cut his season short, but he would return the following year and become a full-time starter once again for the Hokies.
In his career, Austin racked up 87 tackles, 22 pass breakups, two INTs and one sack.

Virginia Tech will host its annual Fan Day on THIS SUNDAY, August 16 from 4-5 p.m. ET, offering Hokie fans a special opportunity to meet the Hokies' student-athletes as excitement continues to build for a new era of football in Blacksburg.
