Get ready for ACC play with the latest edition of the Level Seven Podcast!
In this week’s episode, Hokies’ broadcasters Bill Roth and Mike Burnop preview this Saturday’s league opener at Boston College, plus insight and analysis of Tech’s 3-0 start. Plus, we spotlight QB Ethan Grunkemeyer who has been remarkable so far in 2026.
🔼 Home Sweet Home. With fall weather rolling into Blacksburg, the Virginia Tech men’s soccer didn’t cool off as the Hokies rolled to a third straight victory with a 3-0 defeat of Queens (N.C.) on Tuesday night.
It marked the 100th win in program history at Thompson Field.
Noe Uwimana wasted no time, finding the back of the net in the 10th minute to give Tech an early lead. Mehdi Kettani and Luke Hamel capped off the scoring with goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest to secure the victory.
🔼 The First Look. On the heels of a 35-26 victory against the Maryland Terrapins, James Franklin and the Hokies will seek to secure consecutive statement road victories as they face Boston College at Alumni Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 26 at noon ET.
The game, which will be streamed on ACC Network, is the first conference opponent the Hokies will face in the 2026 regular season.
The white-hot Hokies will look to claim a 4-0 start for the first time since 2017. Let’s dig in to see what fans can expect as Tech football squares off against Boston College this upcoming weekend.
🔼 Dashin’ Dylan. For the first time in his illustrious career at Virginia Tech, Dylan DeCambre has been named the ACC Performer of the Week in men’s cross country.
After earning a sixth-place finish at the VT Invitational earlier this season, the New Jersey native won the Hokie Invitational 8K in 24:23.5. With a final sprint to the finish, he edged teammate Roan Kelly by three-tenths of a second to claim the individual victory.
🔼 Partnering Up. Supporting Virginia Tech Athletics can be as simple as filling up your gas tank or dining at your favorite local restaurant.

🔼 Alexander The Great. Add another weekly accolade to the mix for the Hokies.
This week, men’s soccer standout Alex Perez was named the ACC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Perez recorded four points (one goal and two assists) in Virginia Tech’s 4–2 win at Duke over the weekend. His contributions helped the Hokies earn their first win against Duke since Nov. 1, 2019.
The Las Vegas native leads the conference with five assists and matched his career high for assists in a season during the win.
