Starting at 10 am today, fans will have a chance to win an autographed football from Head Coach James Franklin when you purchase tickets for the Sept. 12 matchup with ODU.
The game will feature the Salute To Service White Effect at Lane Stadium.
Throughout the summer, we’ve been counting down the days to the return of Virginia Tech Football this fall. The Hokies will host VMI in front of a sold out Lane Stadium on September 5 at 7:30 p.m.
2️⃣ Days Away. The wait is almost over. Just two days separate us from the return of Hokie Football.
One of the most consistent and productive playmakers in Virginia Tech history, Josh Morgan developed into one of the Hokies’ top receiving threats during his time in Blacksburg.
He earned time as a true freshman and never looked back, racking up 122 catches, 1,817 yards and 16 TDs as a wideout for the Hokies. He was a part of two ACC Championship teams in 2004 and 2007.
Known for his size, athleticism and big-play ability, Morgan finished his Hokies career averaging 14.9 yards per reception. His performance at Virginia Tech helped propel him to the NFL, where the San Francisco 49ers selected him in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
🔼 Lock ‘Em In. We are now less than two months away from tip-off and on Wednesday, the Virginia Tech women’s hoops program unveiled its complete slate for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The schedule was finalized when the ACC office announced the conference schedule yesterday afternoon.
The Hokies will play 18 conference games, once against 16 ACC foes while battling twice against the Virginia Cavaliers. The 18-game league slate begins on Dec. 6 at Duke.
🔼 Behind The Mics. No better place to get ready for Saturday’s season opener than at the second edition of Tech Talk Live, presented by The Hokie Way at McClain’s at First & Main.
Tonight, Evan Hughes and Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Famer Mike Burnop will help preview this weekend’s big matchup and welcome some Hokies to talk about the season ahead.
The show will air from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast across the Virginia Tech Sports Network and its 40+ radio affiliates, which can be found here. It will also air through the free Hokie Sports app.

The Hokies face VMI Saturday night in the 2026 season opener. Virginia Tech broadcasters Bill Roth and Mike Burnop preview Saturday’s game between the Hokies and VMI which will kickoff the James Franklin era in Blacksburg.
Also, Tech tight end Luke Reynolds joins the show to discus the ’26 team and look ahead to the season opener.
