The football team began fall camp and had many players named to watch lists.

🔼 Lou and Love. The Lou Groza Award recognizes the nation’s top kicker, and John Love has been named to the watch list. Love kicked in all 13 games last season, converting 22 of his 24 field goal attempts. His 91.7% ranked sixth in the country.
🔼 Give me Moore. For the third straight season, Peter Moore has been named to the preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award. The award recognizes the top punter in the FBS. Moore attempted 60 punts totaling 2,588 yards for a 43.1-yard average last season. He placed 17 punts inside the 20 and delivered 19 beyond the 50 yards. His season-long was 62 yards.
🔼 Dynamic Duo. The Atlantic Coast Conference named Aeneas Peebles and Dorian Strong to the All-ACC Preseason Football Team. Strong started in all 13 games last season. He is the second FBS cornerback since 2014 with 300+ coverage snaps to give up less than 10 receptions and less than 100 yards receiving in a season. Peebles is a graduate transfer from Duke. He played in 12 games last season, registering 40 tackles.

The Louisville Sports Commission named Bhayshul Tuten to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse. The award recognizes the most versatile player in college football. Tuten rushed for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 10 five yards per carry in 2023. He also returned 19 kicks for 550 yards and two touchdowns.
