🔼 Love of Lane. From Radford, Virginia, Preston Chrisman was surrounded by all things Hokie football from a young age. His mom attended Virginia Tech, and he did so too. Chrisman appreciated how the Blacksburg community came together after the tragic shooting of 32 students.

🔼 Welcome Home. Adding a reputable name among pitching coaches to the Virginia Tech baseball staff, head coach John Szefc formally welcomed Doug Willey into the role of assistant coach, pitching on Friday.

Willey – who joins the Hokies following his three-year tenure as pitching coach at Xavier – possesses vast pitching development and technology experience at both the collegiate and professional ranks, including three seasons coaching within the Chicago Cubs organization.

🔼 Travel Buddies. Sharon Chepchirchir and Elizabeth Coe participated in the 2025 ACC Unity Tour, making stops in Alabama to learn about history, culture and community engagement.

Welcome. Jule Lindner joins the Virginia Tech track & field and cross country programs from Bavaria, Germany. Lindner, a distance athlete, specializes in the 1500m, the 2000m and the steeplechase, with personal bests of 4:24, 6:30 and 10:09. Jule is also a multi-time German National Team member, representing Germany in multiple international events.
