🔼 Watch List. Placekicker John Love has been named to the watch list for the Lou Groza Award. The award honors the nation’s top kicker. Love kicked in all 13 games last season. He connected on 16 of 18 field goal attempts for an 88.8 success rate. He was perfect on PATs, going 42 for 42.

🔼 Mark the Calendar. The men’s golf team announced its 2025-26 schedule. The Hokies will open their season on Sept. 5 and have a total of 10 tournaments. The ACC Men’s Golf Championship is set for April 23. The women’s golf team will start the 2025-26 season on Sept. 8. The women will play eight regular-season tournaments until the ACC Women’s Golf Championship on April 16.

🔼 On the Mic. WBRW “The Bear” will be back as the radio home for Tech Athletics. The Bear will air football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and coaches’ shows on 105.3 FM. Hokies baseball will be aired on WRAD 101.7 FM.

🟠 POSITION PREVIEW

Linebackers. There is a healthy mix of returning talent and new faces to the linebackers this season. Returnee Jaden Keller had a wildly productive 2024 season. He started in all 13 games for a second-straight season and led the team with 83 tackles. Caleb Woodson will play his third season at Virginia Tech. He was right behind Keller last season with 72 tackles. The linebackers are coached by Shawn Quinn, Xavier Adibi and Sam Siefkes.
