🔼 Head in the Game. Mindset is everything to Caleb Henson. As the 2024 national champion, Henson describes the impact of his teammates and support system at Tech. He’s been focused on improvement in the offseason, with the goal of being a repeat national champion. As a junior, he is already planning on graduating in 2026 and preparing for the 2028 Olympics.

🔼 Coming in Hot. The day after signing with Virginia Tech men’s golf for the 2025 season, Ben Baker was named a 2024 Rolex Junior All-America Honorable Mention by the America Junior Golf Association. Baker was one of 48 junior golfers recognized. He is ranked No. 35 nationally.

🔼 Battle it Set. The battle for the Commonwealth Cup is set for Nov. 30 as the Hokies take on Virginia. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on the ACC Network. The stadium will be at full capacity for the first time since 2018! The game is sold out, but you can find ticket options on SeatGeek.

Guest Appearance. For the 17th annual Baseball Night in Blacksburg, head coach John Szefc announced the special guest. The event will be on Saturday, Feb. 8, at The Inn at Virginia Tech.

🟠 ONE BIG THING

Spotlight. Recent Virginia Tech graduate Reilly Hatfield Marrs helped the athletics department while completing her degree in Biological Systems Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. She was a sports medicine student aide all four years at Virginia Tech. One of her favorite memories as Hokie was storming the court when the men’s basketball team beat Duke in 2019.
