🔼 Special Plays. The ACC named kicker John Love the Specialist Player of the Week. Love drilled two kicks from 57 and 52 yards. The 57-yard field goal was his career-long and the third-longest kick in school history. Love is the first Virginia Tech kicker to make two or more field goals from 51 yards or longer during the same game. The last player to do this was Dave Strock in 1972.
